When I was growing up and Russia was the THEM to our US, even young I know that when the Kremlin reported that some power guy in Moscow had a cold, he was going to die. Then a few days/weeks later he would die and be replaced, quickly, no muss no fuss. Mr. Arafat is dying, he’s not resting, he’s dying. For years he has been the face of first the PLO and then the spokesman for the Palestinian state. With him gone, and no identifiable hierarchy in place, no right of succession, things may ge...

Dear Mr. Vice President, A word if you would. You appear to be operating under a misconception. You seem to have equated complacency and normalcy with ignorance and inattentiveness. I say this because during your debate and numerous times afterwards you have repeatedly spoken of nuclear and biologic weapons smuggled into the heartland, catastrophic attacks against the populous by terrorist cells and destruction on an incalculable scale. Mr. Vice President, you are telling us someth...

I have a question about the recent events in Iraq. Now, a soldier is required to follow any non-immoral order given to them. And, it is assumed that any order given in a combat situation comes with the possibility of bodily injury. Now, at the current state of various explanations the men were asked to go into an area known to occupied by decently armed men, with unarmored or at the least poorly armored vehicles and limited ammunition with what they perceive as a limited chance of non-inj...

I work in a Library and if someone asked me a question about Israel, I would not launch in to my opinion on health care. Now, is it just me or are these gentlemen not able to answer a given question with out bullet points. Even the moderator, after asking a question about Israel mentioned (in passing) that neither of them answered the question. Sirs, I know that a number of American people are not going to like the answers, but we need to hear them during the debate, not from "handlers"...

We seem to have a good sampling of military personnel (Past or present) or their family here. So, I have a question. First, let me state that this is just to get a better understanding of the people in the armed forces. I have the utmost respect and admiration for the job they are doing. In World War II and Vietnam a person was either drafted or enlisted. For Gulf war I it was volunteer as well as for this time. My question is this: Why did you or your family member enlist? I und...

To the reporter on the beach in the middle of the hurricane. Get your butt in the shelter !!!! It’s a flippin HURRICANE !!! Wond, water, damage. We get it. Stop shouting into the mike about stuff we can get from the smart guy 1,000 miles away in the studio and get your white ass into the bunker! Did you ever notice you rarely see black reporters in the middle of hurricanes and severe, life-threatening weather? Hello… you in the thin raincoat, desperately trying to stay upright. We...

Now I understand that there are some believers who take every word of the Bible as the exact word of God and must be followed exactly. I understand that. If that gets you through the dark times of the night, great. I am not that explicit with the bible. So, while I am not a Bible scholar, I think that through Mass, Catholic school, meeting with priests and sermons, I have a good “take” on Jesus. Love, compassion, “the way”. A good guy. Now, I read this story: Link Does the Catholic ch...

Now, I know there is a war on terror and I know we have to trust our government implicitly and that those people in power would never, ever manipulate public opinion or use "scare tactics" to further their own ends, but lets put that aside for a moment and enter the realm of skepticism. The executive branch ordered an orange security alert for Washington DC and financial areas of New Jersey and New York City that could extend into September. There is going to be a Republican National Co...

Now, I can see where people would get upset that the Vice President of the United States vulgarly insults a member of the Senate in the Senate Chamber. And I can also see how people would get mildly annoyed when Teresa Kerry told a reporter where to put his notebook. But this Jenna Bush thing. I first saw it on the Netscape news browser with an article about Mrs. Bush responding to her daughters actions. I read it. I thought one web page no need to respond. Fluff piece. Then I looked a...
