There is going to be, on NBC a six part miniseries (remember those). The plot is basically that the world has reached the end and the book of Revelations is coming to pass. There are two protagonists in the story trying to find a way to forestall the end, and there are those that are encouraging it. It’s an intriguing story idea, since I work nights, I will probably tape it. But it led me to a question. How stacked is the deck against us? If we assume man is the creation of God, and we ...

OK, I do not really watch Saturday Night Live too often. I am generally on the computer, but my wife and I watch the opening sketch. It is generally a takeoff on the current events of the day, so when I sat down and saw the Pope Debates, I thought, YES !!! SNL back to cutting edge. This could get good. I thought Cardinal Guido Sarducci would make an appearance. So when they went to “cardinals” I did not recognize, and Rev. Al Sharpton. Sharpton, cool. But the whole scene was basically one old...

Remember in Star Wars 3, Jabba's line: "You're my kind of scum, fearless and inventive." So, even if we assume that the President is right, that we are winning the war against the insurgents, does this mean that even if there number is dwindling, the're getting better? It's just the number, 125 dead in one attack. IG

President Bush has asked for 80 billion dollars for the war on terror. Let me repeat that. President Bush has asked for 80 billion (that’s B, as in boy is that a lot) dollars for the war on terror. AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT !!!!!!! Now, let’s assume there is good reason for spending money while we are operating under a deficit. Let’s assume that it is needed. I understand our people are over there and have expensive and immediate needs. But, it amazes me that with the supposedly “L...

There is a scene in most movies about the Christmas Carol. The first time I saw it was in the Muppet Christmas Carol. It is when Scrooge meets the Ghost of Christmas Present. Scrooge normally enters a large room in his robe and pajamas and there in the room: Heaped up on the floor, to form a kind of throne, were turkeys, geese, game, poultry, brawn, great joints of meat, sucking-pigs, long wreaths of sausages, mince-pies, plum-puddings, barrels of oysters, red-hot chestnuts, cherry-cheeked...

Now, I know that there are extremes in the arguments regarding gun control. One extreme says that no one but exceptionally trained people with a complete knowledge of firearms should be able to touch a gun. The other extreme says that any 8 year old should be able to fire an AK-47 at bambi. And then there are the rest of us who take up positions between (hopefully) those two extremes. It just seems to me that, in general, and the Wisconsin event in particular. A restructuring of the proced...

OK, So I was reading the messages that I missed over the weekend. And I read the one from Texas Wahine about how her December is in the dumper. and the JU people offered words of encouragement. Now Dear Abby has this letter writing campaign for the troops, which due to Armed Forces mail is over, but I thought, one card can cross the states in a matter of days, seconds for an e-card. So, my question to the JU community. Is there an organization that sends cards to the folks back home? ...
