For the love of pete!!!

Now, I can see where people would get upset that the Vice President of the United States vulgarly insults a member of the Senate in the Senate Chamber.

And I can also see how people would get mildly annoyed when Teresa Kerry told a reporter where to put his notebook.

But this Jenna Bush thing. I first saw it on the Netscape news browser with an article about Mrs. Bush responding to her daughters actions. I read it. I thought one web page no need to respond. Fluff piece. Then I looked at CNN. Found it. Then I went to Fox., I thought no, they wouldn’t have it. THEY DID !!!!

What great offense did Jenna, a 22 year old college student commit? Illegally downloading the entire The Who play list? Running naked through the Capital Rotunda for a Sorority initiation? Using Vice Presidential language to describe her father’s opponent? No. Sticking her tongue out at the press. Yes, sticking her tongue out at the press.

How is this news. She is a college student for pete’s sake. Mistakes and impulse go with the territory.

Sorry, this just ticks me off.

IG

p.s. Way to stand up for your daughter mom.

She's a college graduate, not a student, and by the age of 22 she is an adult and should be judged as one. Both Bush daughters are paid campaign workers actively working for their father's re-election. They are politcal by nature of their employment and as such are fair game for criticism. So is Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter, who is director of vice presidential operations for the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign.

Theresa Kerry is not a politcal employee, so the media went way overboard with her remarks in my opinion. I leave for Thailand in a little over a week; the prime minister's daughter there works at a McDonalds in downtown Bangkok - for seventy five cents an hour. I say send Jenna to work as a WalMart greeter for six bucks an hour. That should fix her attitude.

Didn't Theresa Kerry say what she said during a political convention, which is a political setting? Didn't she just finish a political speech, political in nature? Isn't her husband running for President, a political position? Does she not have any say or any action whatsoever in anything political concerning John Kerry? I know that you lean to the left, but don't lean so much that you fall to the ground. People who try to stand up straight tend to do the best.

As for sticking one's tongue out at the press, I can't believe that's causing such an uproar. Now if she had flipped them the bird...

Heinz-Kerry has made herself a big part of Kerry's campaign.  She even had a huge speach at the DNC.  She should be held as accountable as anyone else campaigning on either party's behalf.

As for Jenna, I didn't see the coverage but it sounds pretty immature.  I can imagine her mother being very dissappointed.  However, you would have to be a retarded schmuck to have what the candidates 20 something daughter sticking her tongue out change your mind in any way.

Have you seen the picture? Maybe I'm just naive, but to me the famous tongue-sticking out incident appeared to be done in humor rather than in the anger that the VP and Therea Heinz Kerry's comments were made.

I didn't have a problem with it at all!

I searched to see it, and found this article that also explains the terrible aftermath: "As everyone on the platform started to laugh and snap photographs, Jenna Bush looked at them for a few more seconds, smiling and laughing."

She was smiling as she stuck her tongue out for goodness sake!  People need to get a sense of humor I guess.  After looking at the picture and reading the article it appears to me that she was flirting with the paparrazzi since she was in a limo with tinted windows.  The tongue seems to me like a "ha, ha, you can't get a picture of anything but my head through a tinted window!" gesture.  What a bitch!

I know that you lean to the left

Please don't start with this stuff again. Good luck finding anything in my writing that is left wing - you won't find it because I'm not left wing. I voted Conservative. I worked as a Conservative intern for a year while studying political science at university. I believe goverment spending should be around 20% of GDP. I think politcal correctness (what you call liberalism) is bull. And the welfare state has run its course.

My post seems to have triggered an irrational emotional response from you, which is odd considering you are generally one of the more level headed posters around here.

but don't lean so much that you fall to the ground. People who try to stand up straight tend to do the best.

You can lose the pedantic attitude anytime, young man. I suspect your attitude is incongruent with your ability to defend yourself and you benefit disproportionately from the state's monoply on violence.
