It was on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The team was walking through the family’s house and the father (I think) was describing how they were all sitting in this room during a hurricane when a tree came crashing through the ceiling. And he was saying how blessed he was. And I thought oh no, not another born again saying how the tree is a test from God and how God wants to make them stronger by hardship etc. But no! His next sentence was beautiful. God did not make the tree fall, but...

Remember in Star Wars 3, Jabba's line: "You're my kind of scum, fearless and inventive." So, even if we assume that the President is right, that we are winning the war against the insurgents, does this mean that even if there number is dwindling, the're getting better? It's just the number, 125 dead in one attack. IG

President Bush has asked for 80 billion dollars for the war on terror. Let me repeat that. President Bush has asked for 80 billion (that’s B, as in boy is that a lot) dollars for the war on terror. AND NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT !!!!!!! Now, let’s assume there is good reason for spending money while we are operating under a deficit. Let’s assume that it is needed. I understand our people are over there and have expensive and immediate needs. But, it amazes me that with the supposedly “L...

When exactly does a security check become foreplay? Link DR. EVIL: I like to see girls of that caliber. By caliber, I mean both the barrel size of their guns and the high quality of their character...Forget it. I've heard of padding your bra, but this is ridiculous. IG

Now, let’s start with the idea that God created everything. So, God made Adam and Eve and set them down in Paradise. Now, the two fell out of favor when the disobeyed God and were tempted by the serpent, the devil. Now, the Devil was a fallen angel who tried a coup and was summarily brought down, way down. I have two problems with this. 1. If you are god and know all and see all, and you are creating Paradise, why do you let the devil entrance in the first place? You know he’s goi...

Negotiating with myself is great. I always win! Because I always agree with myself. I would never do it in public becuase that would look strange. And people are already mad at me. See, at the last card came, I didn't want to play the hand that was delt me, I wanted to play someone else's. For the love of Pete, the man has to either take more of a puase to collect himself, or get another man on the mike in his ear. Link IG

I was listening in church last Sunday and the priest mentioned the second coming, and I started thinking, why is the second coming a good thing? I mean yes, we will all see heaven and God and be eternally happy. But what is “happy”. Being happy means different things to different people. For LW, happiness is a riding crop and vampire gloves, for Brad – Michael Moore with a perpetual case of the trots and code that compiles without errors. But let’s assume that there is some sort of univer...

So, I took my two of my three girls (5, 7) ice skating at the rink last Saturday because the 7 year old wanted to. Now, I skated in my teen years and I could do alright. I could get up speed, turn and stop. I was told you never forget how, it was like riding a bike. Lying, freakin’ bastards. So, while I was inching my way across the ice, my eldest was clinging to the side and moving down the wall, the 5 stepped out, fell and stepped back in, this she did several times. Lessons are nee...

There is a scene in most movies about the Christmas Carol. The first time I saw it was in the Muppet Christmas Carol. It is when Scrooge meets the Ghost of Christmas Present. Scrooge normally enters a large room in his robe and pajamas and there in the room: Heaped up on the floor, to form a kind of throne, were turkeys, geese, game, poultry, brawn, great joints of meat, sucking-pigs, long wreaths of sausages, mince-pies, plum-puddings, barrels of oysters, red-hot chestnuts, cherry-cheeked...

Now, this could be me not understanding the political realm, but is anyone else a little bothered by the fact that the US is at war and over 1/2 of the President's cabinet has retired? Including the Sec. of State, Defense and Homeland Security. Yes, this could be politics as usual, but this is not a usual situation. IG
