It was on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The team was walking through the family’s house and the father (I think) was describing how they were all sitting in this room during a hurricane when a tree came crashing through the ceiling. And he was saying how blessed he was. And I thought oh no, not another born again saying how the tree is a test from God and how God wants to make them stronger by hardship etc.
But no! His next sentence was beautiful. God did not make the tree fall, but he held it up so it would not crush the family. And I thought, YES! That is something I can agree with. Sometimes sh*t happens, just because, no divine plan, just a tree, water and a mighty wind. But God is there to help after the sh*t happens.
The tree falling is happenstance, not taking out a family member, is that split second that assistance came in.
True, the physics involved could support the tree, or maybe God helped.
