President Bush said yesterday:

“Katrina exposed serious problems in our response capability at all levels of government.”

“And to the extent that the federal government didn’t fully do it’s job right, I take responsibility. I want to know what went right and what went wrong.”

Thank you Mr. President. It's what we needed to hear.

Now if only the state and local ummm, leaders, would follow suit.

Pfffft. My ass. I think it takes a very big man....a good leader....to say what he said. For him to say that was to take the blame for things that happened that were not his fault. The whole system is screwed up when it comes to emergency response and management.

Until the day comes where there's a perfect human being, and Americans manage to find him or her and put him or her in office (SCOFF!), I think we need to be supportive of our leaders, even if we don't agree. And my guess is even if we find a perfect person, half the people in American will hate that person, too.

If you think you can do a better job, you'd better get your name on that ballot for 2008.
