The curse of getting what you want
Published on January 29, 2004 By InfoGeek In Current Events
I was thinking, by listening to the radio stations and the religious stations I get an idea of what they want. The question I have is if we return to the "christian values" this nation was supposedly founded upon, how will the new leaders deal with the "jewish values", "muslim values" and the other relions that currently co-exist in our society. Yes, I know it is not a completely peaceful co-existence, but do you think it would be better with leaders who think you are an ungodly abomination?

Also, could it be that this country was founded on certain values because Rabbi Greenberg or Kunte Kinte were not invited to the discussion?

America was and continue to be a relatively prosperous nation. Fact. America and the laws thereof were formed on religious basis.

America was and continue to be a relatively prosperous nation. Fact. America and the laws thereof were formed on religious basis. Fact. Christianity is the only way. Belief.

I don't think we should become a church led nation, and I think maybe it was a mistake to have been similar to that in the first place. We don't want the age of indulgences to return by any means. I say, bring brack the principles that made the country great. Maybe not everybody believed in the absolutes, but at least we didn't have the problems crime we had before.

Let people believe what they want. That's what religious freedom is all about. But there are some things that need to be maintained lest we see our nation fall apart in front of us.

As I see it, there is no consensus as to what is right and what is wrong, this is not because of other religions, but because of no religion. On the other hand the original value system was founded on racisim and putting women in their place. I wouldn't want to go back there. Although the division between Republicans and Democrats has lessened, there still are great divisions between liberals and conservatives, rich and poor, east and west, north and south. If we could build a value system on the common good and taking care of those who are unable to care for themselves, rehabilitation instead of prison for non-violent crimes and drug and alcohol abuse, we could have a society that all of us could enjoy--with less crime and more equality.

There is nothing wrong with christian values unless you try and force them on others who wish to use their free will. People like to delusion themselves into thinking that crime is any different today than it was hundreds or thousands of years ago. Today the media can bombard you with death from around the world in seconds. In the days of old you wouldn't even hear about it because there wasn't radio or TV. Rumor from the big city is where you got your news until wire taps appeared.

Gangsters, bandits, robbers, footpads, rogues. All commiting crimes and names given too them in different cultures in different time periods. Al Capone and the mafia were killing hundreds, not too mention the amount of criminals prohibition seen/sees. Billy the Kid, Jesse James were killers.

Some of our illustrious forefathers like Benjiman Franklin belonged to a magician's club called the "Hellfire Club". Wherever there is money/power there is corruption and it has always been that way, plain and simple.

Overpopulation has something to do with it as well. This is no longer the last frontier. New America has been bought, paid for, and chopped up into bite size parcels surrounded by barbwire fences. We are all trapped ~chuckles~.

Terror and apocolyptic disasters are what bring people together and makes them realize that we are all humans with the same wants, needs and desires. We use to overcome our fear with commonality, surrounding ourselves with our own kind. The new America was scary. There were indians, pitfalls, canyons, disease, etc. We had to use each other to keep it together. Today in our society what do we have to fear?! Nothing! People fight our fights for us, make our foods for us, transport our goods for us so that we can be lazy and complain about everything else going wrong in the world. Our days are numbered though and we will again need each other, for our very existance will depend upon it.

A vast majority of our laws are christian based. If people wish to walk naked and not partake in the clothing scam they should be allowed to. It was the christian sector with money that got the prohibition of alcohol launched and you can see how effective that was ~chuckles~. Marijuana became illegal at first because people wanted to control the Mexicans coming into our country because smoking was a daily part of many hispanic lives. It later became a form of revenue. We need accountability in America that's all! But no one is willing to make anyone else accounatable if it rocks their own little boat or requires effort ~chuckles~. There are exceptions to every rule of course I speak of the general whole.
