In an extremely bizarre take on the separation of church and state the mental giants in the French government have decided to prohibit the wearing of headscarves, jewish skullcaps and large christian crosses by students in state schools.

This is of course, and rightly so, torquing off the Muslims, whose religious beliefs require a ladies hair to be covered when out in public. Why, its what their holy book says.

According to the AP: "Chirac's request capped months of debate about mainly Roman Catholic France's struggle to hold together the multiracial, multicultural but often poorly integrated society it has become after waves of immigration from North Africa and elsewhere."
